project overview
The Beach BIA wanted to create a distinct visual identity for their Moonlight Madness event.
Along with creating a strong look and feel, the goal was to build a scalable system for the marketing team to manage independently. By providing a library of custom icons, visual assets, and social templates, I empowered the team to create on-brand materials autonomously.
design objectives
The Essentials
Before we jumped into design, we spent some time pinning down specific goals and functional needs that would make the event a success.
The event's look needed to capture that magical evening glow to set the right mood, while staying high-contrast enough to be easily readable on event signage at night.
The visual system needed to be scale-proof, it had to hold its own when appearing on a tiny phone screen or a massive 8-foot transit shelter ad.
One of the key asks was to build a flexible toolkit that allowed the BIA team to whip up new flyers or social posts on the fly, without the brand ever feeling messy or broken.

Visual Assets & Icon Library
Once we settled on the final look and feel for the event, I provided a toolkit of custom illustrations, icons and visual goodies designed to make staying on-brand easy and fun for the event team.

Custom Templates
Along with the visual toolkit, I created a set of social post templates that gave the team the freedom to share updates, without having to start from scratch.

In the Wild
It was so rewarding to see the team take the toolkit and run with it, from big transit shelter ads to hand-held flyers, here’s a look at how the event branding came to life in the wild.
